Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Salah apologised to the group of players following the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the squad's reaction remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” he continued.
He also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
The team's performance have been impressive in the games following the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and securing victories.”
