US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, according to reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, playing a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, like:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
