A man from Australia who jumped over a barricade and touched celebrity Ariana Grande has been expelled and barred from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, twenty-six, was sentenced to more than a week in prison for being a public nuisance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told news outlets.

Wen pushed beyond security and rushed toward the performer and artist, who was attending the Asian premier for Wicked: For Good on the thirteenth of November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year.

The occurrence caused anger in Singapore, with numerous people accusing him of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has mentioned dealing with PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the English city in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 people and injured hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the judge was informed he had attempted to intrude on the red carpet event twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a another effort to cross the barriers. Security staff stopped him and pinned him down.

He then uploaded videos appreciating the celebrity for letting him on the carpet and said he was "released."

Police arrested him the next day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Presiding Judge the judicial official was quoted by media reports as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", noting that he was wrong to think he would not suffer any consequences.

The actress has not addressed the case.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the incident to NBC, stating that she "just wanted to ensure my colleague was secure."

"I believe he didn't intend us harm, but you never know with those things, and I sought to ensure that she was fine. That was my immediate response," she stated.
