I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.
Ex two time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
