The celebrated British actress Mirren, already recipient of an Oscar statuette, several BAFTA honors, three Golden Globes, five Emmys, and a Tony, is set to earn an additional prestigious accolade to her collection: the Cecil B DeMille Golden Globe lifetime honor.

Ceremony Details

Dame Helen, 80, who was given a damehood in 2003 and named a BAFTA fellow back in 2014, will accept the accolade in a ceremony January 8, shortly before the primary Globes ceremony are held, during a ceremony promoted by the Globes as the Golden Eve event.

Additionally featuring the bestowal of the Globes’ Carol Burnett prize for television achievement, the recipient of which remains unannounced. Previous recipients were Viola Davis along with Ted Danson.

“Mirren stands as a powerhouse performer, and her career is absolutely extraordinary,” remarked Helen Hoehne, Helen Hoehne. “Her transcendent performances and devotion to her art persistently influence numerous actors and audiences alike. We are deeply honored to award her this lifetime achievement honor.”

Professional Journey

The star became well-known in the 1970s through significant parts in theater in the West End of London and with the RSC and in cinematic works like O Lucky Man!, Caligula & The Long Good Friday.

During the nineties, her starring role in detective drama Prime Suspect expanded her audience even more. Additional notable movies feature Excalibur, The Madness of King George, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Gosford Park and Calendar Girls.
