“It was regrettable. It was essentially an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, our fans. The entire stadium was brimming with excitement for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the signal was entirely accidental, happening amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply showed the incorrect finger,” he remarked. “The action was accidentally done. This is sincere. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
