Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player won his initial championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This marks his maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early break points in a competitive final set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
