A Pig's Tale: Pig Named Six Seven Granted Clemency by Miami-Dade Leader.

Although not quite at the equivalent scale as sparing Thanksgiving turkeys, but the mayor of Miami-Dade conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by ritually sparing the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“The swine has done no wrong. She deserves this act of mercy. She has committed zero crimes,” stated the mayor in a speech with clear references to the sheer volume of executive clemencies issued since the commencement of a current administration.

“Except perhaps for eating 6 or 7 apples per day,” Levine Cava continued. “May this pig enjoy a prosperous future away from worry.”

The gathering, which both honors and questions the region’s Hispanic tradition of feasting on pork during the holidays, was established to emulate the yearly bird sparing at the White House.

The pig, donated by a first responder, was given its name from the modern linguistic fad of young people yelling “six-seven” – inspired by a rap song lyric – often seemingly at random. The trend became so pervasive that a major dictionary recently declared “six-seven” its top term for the year.

A New Life

The pardoned swine is now scheduled to spend its days at a rural sanctuary “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the organizers' announcement.

“The annual pig pardon has become a cherished method to open the festive period,” said the event host, in a notably cheerful message.

“It embodies the spirit of Miami: vibrant, diverse, and grounded in customs that foster togetherness. Annually, we are proud to celebrate tradition and kindness in a way distinctively Miamian.”

Guests enjoyed a vegetarian menu of spinach fritters and strong coffee as they celebrated the swine's new lease on life.
